I live in the West and travelling ALL THE WAY TO CHANGI VILLAGE WAS A KILLER.

Located in the neighbourhood in a very corner of all corners, I think Chock Full of Beans is a very cosy place and pretty decent place to dine in. At least the people there were friendly and smiling, and the place is well-ventilated and I like their tables and chairs (lol)

It's a bit tinyyyyyyy so I think reservations are definitely recommended, or you could put down your name and number and walk around (nope, there's nothing around) while you wait.

I only ate the Sasuage Rosti one and I really liked it! The menu is pretty limited, but I think it's more than enough for a brunch place. PLUS, i thought it wouldn't be filling but after eating, I was REALLY full lol.

The Strawberry shortcake was REALLY yumz. I like the cream a lot and the cake is really fuwa fuwa (fluffy) and soft. I think they draw random stuff for you, so I guess you'll get a pleasant surprise when your cake is served. Ours was Blossom from Powerpuff Girls, omg childhood.

KEY POINT OF THE CAFE IN MY OPINION. Really cool and well done coffee art omg. The Minnie Mouse looks REALLY accurate. And HOLYSHIT my 3D neko (cat) one was REALLY COOL. This has to be done by Boss though, so I think they do limit it to only ONE per table - or was it two - and you can't make a request, Boss will make a random one for you. Every other drink though, gets a randomly drawn 2D art. Perhaps if you come on a Weekday where it isn't packed, you might get your request fulfilled? Lol. But Thankfully, I got something I wanted hehe.

It was REALLY cute so I was determined NOT to ruin the cat while I sipped on the coffee carefully. And lol, I succeed (clap clap) \o/

It was a really and enjoyable brunch! The distance was worth it I guess, but I probably wouldn't go back there again if no one's driving lol. But ofc, without a car, this place is still really accessible - You can drop at Tanah Merah MRT and take a bus down to Changi Ter. (or rather, the stop before and cross the street).

After brunch, you can even go Cycling or just chill by the seaside - ofc, with the incoming haze, I wouldn't recommend that. But hey, if it's a clear day, cycling is a good workout (which was what we did and now my legs feel jelly-ish).

The Central basement has a new addition \o/

It's pretty cheap yumyum Korean food place called Rolling Rice (damn cute name) and I really think they're really affordable compared to many Korean food outside and the food is pretty nice! So far haven't tried much on their menu but I really love their rice rolls, idk if they should be called mini kimbap but I shall cos they cute like sushi. And I always order their Spam roll (luncheon meat) and they have other meat too, like fried chicken, etc.

Set meals are really affordable imo, you can choose a main e.g. noodle, toppoki, or sth else and then a row of roll. You can also have a roll combo at a cheaper price too! Definitely something for everyone hoho. And you can get Korean can drinks too (though a bit pricey but well)

Very lazy to blog so let the photos tell the story~

Tamoya Udon House

Editing a really old post to update more photos cos' i realize the photos I posted back in 2013 was pretty meh. Hahaha

Tbh i havent eaten much udon before, and one of the first few I ate was Tamoya and I am glad to say that thanks to them I'm now a fan! Lol

Pretty affordable and yummy udon, you get a wild variety of udon selection and also side-dishes that you can add on~

Back in 2013, i was young (not) and broke (still am) and was introduced to Tamoya by a friend. We went to the Liang Court branch to dine together and I would say as a first-time-eating-udon, it was a great taste :9

I have a thing for cold noodles so when I first visited, i ordered zaru udon, and the 2nd time i went, i ordered Sanuki which is some light soy sauce soup base i believe.

The noodles are really chewy and really long (laughs) i like how chewy they are and it tastes really good too.

They have curry udon, and a lot of other variation of udon there. In addition, you can also add-on your favourite(s) from their variety of tempura and fried ebi, chicken culet etc. I tried their shitake mushroom, was a bit cold but taste good still (i dont think the taste can diff too much huh) and also cutlet. Cutlet's a bit hard to chew but i think it would taste better if i didnt leave it to the last to eat. I do take a long time to eat noodles so i guess that could be why half my add-ons were getting cold by the time i ate it hahaha.

Nonetheless, i guess it was pretty worth the price and try though the portion might look a bit small, when it really isn't. I think i'll go back there again and try other stuff on their menu ^_^

And now in 2015, i'm stuck on them and became a frequent customer LOL i really love their udon and definitely gonna go back for more :9 :9 :9

ヽ(;▽;)ノ
Finally got the chance to try the dim sum at Swee Choon!!! I've been hearing a lot about it and how it's a good place to hang out for late night supper but i've never been there personally boo. 4 person, each at about $17 each, I guess that's pretty reasonable~

Today got the chance to go there with jwen yrui and ting!! It was superrrrr filling and super yummy! Ofc the place wasn't that accessible, but a small walk wouldn't hurt since it helps digest all the food we ate!

Basically we pigged out and ate a lot of yummy dim sum!!

Red bean paste......sth. I forgot the name.

Imo the Xiao Long Bao was REALLY good. I really liked it and the soup tasted good. One thing i dont like about XLB thou is when you leave them to chill for a bit and the skin sticks to your teeth?? Not sure if im the only one, but i tend to get annoyed by it lol

Egg tart is good too! The middle is really soft and really fragrant~ almost wanted to eat another one hehe

I super love the filling in this yam ball! It's not too sweet and the filling doesn't overwhelme the taste of the yam outside either, I would say it's a perfect combi. Definitely my personal favourite tonight.

I liked how the carrot cake is really soft and the sides are superrrrr crispy!! It's like the thing melts in your mouth but yet it's crunchy at the same time! Definitely go really good with the chilli (i choked on it though lol)

This fresh prawn roll is SUPER GOOD. The crispy fried beancurd skin outside is really crispy (duh) and the filling is really fresh and every bite is just prawns, prawns, prawns and more prawns! Totally worth a try imo.

First time tasting liu sha bao too!! Was really surprised that it wasn't that sweet like i imagined, in fact, it was really good! And ofc a warning that you need to eat this with caution or you'll be caught in a mess (or unglam situation lol)

And lastly we finished off dinner with a Mango Pomelo Sago~

Very sweet and very sour but nonetheless, a very refreshing dessert to end the dinner.

This week gonna go to the zoo!! Hopefully it'll be a fun trip and i hope the weather will be good, like not too hot and not raining (kinda hard but im praying hard too!!!)

Quick post on Poulet (Amazing French Roast Chicken)

Poulét

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PouletSG
Location: Vivocity, Chinatown Point, Bugis+, Jurong Point, Great World City

Saw another photo of food in my phone and decided to revive this dead space once again.

Poulet, actually Poulét, claims to have "amazing french roast chicken". Since it's french cuisine, I think the taste might just not be too appealing to some, but in general I think it is worth trying since i do like it quite a bit ^^

Above was the food my friends and I ordered. Mashed potato, fries, half baked chicken, sausages, and then also a tiramisu for dessert!

I personally liked the Mashed potato and Chicken a lot! The mashed potato is pretty dry and doesn't have any sauce on it, which wasn't quite like the normal ones I always eat (e.g. Popeyes) but it taste REALLY good. I liked the taste of it a lot, very 香 and you can taste a very yummy thick and creamy potato that makes you take one bite after another. Hoho. Drools.

As for the chicken, the meat is REALLY tender! The sauce has a faint herb/spice taste? I don't really know what it is, lol but it is a creamy taste indeed. The chicken is pretty decent too, i like the skin part a lot hahaha. The only annoying thing is that since it's half chicken or full chicken this just means......... BONES. Lol. It's pretty impossible to cut everything up nicely and the plate simply became a mess (which i get REALLY bothered about). But definitely worth the try!!

The sausage is pretty normal but the sauce is what makes it special i guess, you get both a jam, and some mustard... Er.. Dip. Fries, on the other hand, is just.... Fries. Nothing special definitely.

Lastly, the hory Tiramisu. Beautiful thing omg. Thick and yummy and really flavourful! I like it a lot~ but it's a bit more moussey(?) and wet inside so yeah, it kinda melts in the mouth~ must try! (Very sweet though)

Well, in conclusion i think it's a pretty good place to go, probably should try it at least once! 4 of us went and each paid probably about $20+, pretty affordable i guess...

Plus, from their initial store at Bugis+, they have now expanded and have more stores at other places now - Chinatown Point, Great World City, Vivo City and also Jurong Point. Pretty convenient imo, And they're opened from 11:30am to 10pm ( i think)

Go ahead and visit their website to find out more: www.poulet.com.sg
